Vodafone Idea lost 2.3 mn clients, didn’t add 1.7 mn, shows updated TRAI information
Vodafone idea News; Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has delivered the overhauled figures for January telecom supporters. The new information shows that Vodafone Idea had really lost 2.3 million remote clients, rather than acquiring 1.7 million clients as was accounted for before. TRAI said that the report was because of an “incidental blunder” on the telco’s part.
“M/s Vodafone Idea Limited vide its letter no. VIL/LT/19-20/627 dated eighteenth March, 2021 announced a unintentional blunder in its HLR endorser information in regard of Uttar Pradesh (West) LSA for the period of January 2021,” expressed TRAI in its corrigendum.
According to the changed figures, Vodafone Idea lost 2.3 million clients in the period of January while Bharti Airtel acquired 5.9 million, trailed by Reliance Jio that additional 2 million clients.
As indicated by TRAI information that was delivered recently, Vodafone Idea had added 1.7 million remote supporters in January without precedent for a very long time.
The new endorsers were accounted for in Uttar Pradesh West, while the information showed that the telco lost clients on the whole of its other telecom circles.
Dependence Jio beat remote endorser figures with a base of 410.7 million and a piece of the pie of 35.43 percent, trailed via Airtel with 344.6 million supporters and Vodafone Idea’s 281.9 million supporters.
Airtel has a piece of the overall industry of 29.72 percent while Vodafone Idea has 24.32 percent share. “As on 31st January, 2021, the private access specialist co-ops held 89.47 percent piece of the pie of the remote endorsers though BSNL and MTNL, the two PSU access specialist co-ops, had a piece of the overall industry of just 10.53 percent,” expressed TRAI in its corrigendum.
